Meet Our Staff

With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, I started my journey with Kemna Auto Group and have been passionate about helping people find the right vehicle ever since. Today, my wife and I proudly own AutoSmart, Smart Power Sports, and two car rental companies. Outside of work, I enjoy boating, fishing, and exploring the Black Hills on side-by-side trips with close friends. Recently, we became first-time grandparents—a role we’re absolutely loving. Family is at the heart of everything we do.

I've been at Autosmart since November 2012, before this I was at Rescar repairing railcars for 3.5 years (2009-2012) and from 1999-2009 I was at Winnebage Industries. I attended Navasota High School in Texas and my favorite subjects were all shop classes, Woodshop, Automotive Shop, and AG classes building trailers and welding. I grew up all over the country, lived in at least 25 states in my childhood years. Now I live in the big town of Titonka. I am married with two kids, I love to be outdoors, can fish for hours without ever getting bored, and I enjoy all kinds of motorsports like four-wheelers, dirt bikes, gas motorcycles etc. My Favorite Car I don't have just one, many, almost all classic American muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.

Store Manager Ryan Schmidt was born and raised in Fort Dodge but has been in the Okoboji area for over 15 years now. He lives in Okoboji with his 3 boys Evan, Ethan and Elliot. Ryan is very active in the community with Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis and the Chamber of commerce. In his spare time Ryan and his boys run a Sports and collectibles shop also in Okoboji and love everything sports, outdoors and family. Ryan likes the customers most in the car business with out the awesome customers we would be nothing he says.

I am from Plainwell, Michigan and Port Charlotte, Florida, but home is wherever my mom is. I have worked at AutoSmart since April of 2014. I enjoy spending time with my family and serving in my church. I love to play volleyball and softball. I am married with 4 kids, 2 dogs, and 7 grandkids. My family loves to help others in whatever way they need. If I were given a vehicle of my choice, it would probably still be a minivan, because what mom doesn't need her space!

Hi my name is Kevin Kohlhaas and I work for Autosmart of Algona. I have been in sales for 14 years, and was also in the Iowa Army National Guard for 9 years. My wife and I were raised, and currently live in Algona. She is an Algona High graduate and I am a Bishop Garrigan graduate. I have 2 children both Bishop Garrigan graduates as well, GO BEARS! My son currently attends Iowa State University (GO CYCLONES!) and is also in the Iowa Army National Guard. My daughter currently attends Allen University in Waterloo and is in their nursing program. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. In our free time we love to go camping with friends, cheer for the Vikings/Cyclones/Golden Bears, go to dirt track races, and attend concerts.

I found a passion for the sales field 8 years ago, and haven't looked back. I've sold large industrial motors, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and everything in-between. My family and I live a pretty busy life. I have two very active little boys that keep me on my toes, and a baby girl on the way. I spend the warm months fishing, camping, and doing other outdoor activities with my boys. I also spend A LOT of time on two wheels when the weather allows. I got into motorcycles about 10 years ago, and now I spend the winter months day dreaming of motorcycle rides. During the fall and winter, I spend the majority of my time throwing soft tip darts. Between leagues, tournaments, and practice, I can spend anywhere from 25-35 hours a week looking at a dart board.

Hello! I was born in Greeley, CO. My family and I moved to the Midwest when I was 4 years old! After graduating high school at East Sac County I attended college here in Fort Dodge! I got my associates degree in auto body and restoration. I know I know, why am I not using my degree? Well I didn’t want to make my hobby a job. So I thought the next best thing was to give sales a try, as I still wanted to be involved with vehicles. I joined the AutoSmart team here in Fort Dodge and the environment here is great! I spend most of my weekends on a golf course, riding my Harley-Davidson, or camping with family and friends! Looking forward to doing business with you!

I started at Auto Smart in April of 2025. I was born & raised in Sherburn MN. I attended the university of South Dakota & Brown College. I’m father to four boys, Khalen, Tannen, James & Ivan. As well as husband to my wonderful wife, Mandie. We’ve owned our home in Milford for over ten years & really enjoy the lakes area. I love to spend time with my family first & foremost. In my free time I enjoy gaming, playing my guitar, song writing, creating art & I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge. My favorite car is my Chevy Volt. The favorite part of my job is the joy on peoples faces when they fulfill their goal of getting a vehicle.

Hello! My name is Chloe Mohr. I grew up in Spencer, Iowa. I currently am the Sales Assistant Manager at the Okoboji location of Auto Smart! I have been part of the Auto Smart team since March of 2023 and enjoy being able to help customers and build great relationships with them! I have a beautiful son and two dogs. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, and being on the golf course!

I've been a part of the team since October 2022, managing all service, parts, and marketing across our tree locations. I truly enjoy what I do, and one of my favorite parts of the workday is building out UTV's and helping grow and strengthen the brand. Outside of work, I love spending time with my daughter, my other half, and our two dogs. We're always outdoors - whether it's walking together, riding the side-by-side, or diving into new projects. Life is constantly on the go for us, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Started working at Autosmart and Smart Powersports in March of 2024 with my soon to be wife. We had a little girl at the end of May who means the world to us. I enjoy the line of work I am In and work hard at it to put out quality work. In my free time like to work on my side by side, snowmobiles, or my truck or going on walks with my daughter and fiancé.

Kyle is working at the AutoSmart of Okoboji. He was born in Worthington Minnesota. He lived and grew up in Jackson Minnesota and also Dunnell Minnesota where his grandparents had a farm. He grew up as a farm ki and has always loved to be outside. His family eventually moved to the Spirit Lake area. In 2013 he met his wife, Mandie. They ended up getting married in 2015. Then in 2019 his dad was diagnosed with sclerosis of the liver and passed away. A couple months later their miracle baby Haylee was born. He has always been a car guy and in the last couple of years he has been working on is 80 firebird. He has drag raced in Humboldt and loved every minute. Him and his family's loves to go camping, drag racing, fishing, and BBQ! It's safe to say if you don't find him fixing other people's car, he is probably fixing his own to go racing!

I like working on most anything with an engine In my free time and for a profession. As the technician and a member of the management team in Fort Dodge I take great pride in providing the best cars I can at a price the average person can afford. I take pride in my work and job. I also enjoy cooking and long walks to silently reflect.

Hi! My name is Lauren and I am an office assistant & also help with collections at the Fort Dodge location Autosmart. I live in town with my two cats that I look forward to coming home to every night. When I’m not here helping around the office, I love spending quality time with family & friends. Whether it’s just sharing a good meal together or going to a concert! I’m a huge true crime and random animal fact fan so if you can tell me anything I haven’t heard before I’ll be your biggest fan! My favorite car is a classic Chevy Cruise convertible.

Hello! My name is Kelsy Miller. I grew up in Mallard, Iowa. I currently am the Admin Assistant in Okoboji and head up Okoboji Rental Cars! I have been part of the Auto Smart team since 2023 and enjoy meeting new people and creating friendships with customers. I have 2 wonderful kids and 2 cats. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my kids, going on long walks, I also love music and going to concerts.
